Editors' rating
The good: The Monster Turbine Pro In-Ear Speakers are exceptionally stylish and well-made, and they offer a massive amount of bass without sacrificing on high-end clarity. Passive sound isolation is excellent.

The bad: The Turbine Pro In-Ear Speakers are pricey, and they don't include an integrated mic or controls for the iPod.

The bottom line:The Monster Turbine Pro earphones offer a sleek and stylish design and plenty of deep, thumping bass. If you have money to burn, these are a nice choice.

Once you hear these you cant go back., February 13, 2010

I have owned a half dozen head phones before finally buying these - my last. I have owned Bose in ear phones foe almost two years but they are NOT sound isolating and their bass is muddy, the highs are not sharp in comparison to these. I upgraded to Altec Lansing UPH326's and had to get the COMPLY ear pieces to get a tighter fit and better bass. The bass immediately improved and the sound then easily surpassed the Bose - manly due to the sound isolation and the tighter bass. I accidentally damaged the cords of the Altecs between two weight plates so I had to make a decision. To make a long story short - now I have the Monsters, and yes they are much more money than the Altecs - they cost more than the Bose AND the Altecs together. But they are well worth it if you like to listen to music. For one thing, the Monsters come with nice cable management system - I wont get these caught - they don't dangle.
I hear things with these headphones that I definitely did not hear with the other phones. Background instruments, background singers (more of them), clapping, cymbals, are sharper, drums are tighter.
By the way, of the 10 or so ear pieces the Monsters came with - I chose the COMPLY earpieces that ALSO come with them.

Monster Gold Turbine - Best In-Ear Headphones for Small Ears!, June 21, 2010

Ok - first product review ever but was impressed with Gold Turbines and wanted to share. First of all, I am somewhat of an audiophile and also an avid runner/gym-goer. I do my critical listening on my home system but was in search of some decent sound quality while running and working-out at the gym. I had tried a number of other in-ear headphones but even the smallest included tips were near impossible to fit in my non-Will Smith-sized ear canals and didn't have a prayer of staying in while exercising (even if I could put up with the pain). I had found the Sennheiser Twist-to-Fit to be a decent compromise but the sound quality was less than stellar. I had read a recent Sound & Vision review of various in-ears including the Turbine's and decided to give them a try when my last pair of Sennheiser's died. I have been very pleasantly surprised.
They fit amazingly well, not through their touted SuperTips (which still aren't a bad fit and a zillion times better than previous attempts) but rather through their included "plug-like" tips similar to those used for over a decade on the near-legendary Etymotic Research ER-4P Micropro line. They are easy to get in and out, comfortable, and even when sweaty they stay in while jogging, elliptical trainer, etc... They are also beautifully constructed, sturdy, and come with a great lifetime warranty where MC will replace them once no matter what incredibly idiotic thing you do to them. Of course, most importantly, they sound phenomenal. I feel as if I'm actually hearing ALL the music again, and I don't mean some overly-bass-heavy garbage like MC's Dr.Dre Beats line. That was something I was worried about since the Copper Turbines are supposed to be somewhat more "musical" than the Golds but I feel that the Gold Turbines give a very true reproduction of the source (and apparently the S&V guys agreed, I recommend you Google the review article).
My only complaint is more of a back-handed-compliment. One thing I liked about the Sennheiser Twist-to-Fit system is that I could still hear a good bit of what was going on around me, including comments from running partners or gym-goers, cars coming up behind me while running on the road, friendly shouts to "Watch out for that pothole!", etc... Even though the Turbines are not noise-cancelling, they are surely noise-isolating. I can still hear and understand what a gym partner might be saying to me but it sounds like I'm deep in a cave and I'll usually slide one tip out so as to avoid shouting back at them. Can't have your cake and eat it too, I guess.
